Mining & Metal
Mining sites punish electronics in every way at once — dust, vibration, temperature swing, and no usable network. We build for that first, then add the intelligence.
What makes this sector hard
Every one of these has cost somebody a programme. They are the questions we ask first, before any architecture is proposed.
- Continuous vibration and shock that destroys conventionally mounted assemblies
- Conductive dust ingress and washdown cycles on the same equipment
- Patchy or absent connectivity across pits, benches and underground workings
- Unplanned downtime on a single mill or crusher costing a shift of output
- Statutory safety reporting that must be evidenced, not asserted
- Maintenance scheduled from measured condition instead of a fixed calendar
- Fewer people-plant interactions, with an auditable record of each one
- Equipment health visible to the control room before it becomes a stoppage
What we build for mining & metal
The approach, in practice
Heavy industry does not reward clever electronics that cannot take a beating. Our work in mining and metals starts with the mechanical and environmental specification — mounting, sealing, derating and service access — and only then addresses the sensing and the analytics. A monitoring system that needs a technician on a rope access permit to replace a battery is not a monitoring system anyone will keep running.
